Toxicogenomics is an interdisciplinary field that integrates toxicology with high-throughput genomic technologies to study how genes respond to toxicant exposure. By combining genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics, it provides a systems-level understanding of the molecular events underlying toxicity. This approach enables early detection of toxic effects, elucidation of mechanisms of action, and prediction of adverse outcomes before they manifest clinically.

Originally developed for pharmaceutical safety evaluation, toxicogenomics now plays a vital role in environmental health, occupational safety, food safety, and regulatory toxicology. It also contributes to identifying vulnerable populations, understanding gene–environment interactions, and advancing precision toxicology. With the rapid expansion of large-scale data and computational tools, toxicogenomics is increasingly recognized as a transformative tool for next-generation hazard identification and risk assessment.

This Research Topic aims to bring together innovative studies and interdisciplinary approaches that apply toxicogenomics to understand, predict, and mitigate the toxicological effects of chemicals, pharmaceuticals, environmental pollutants, and emerging contaminants. We invite contributions (Original Research Articles, Reviews, Mini Reviews, Case Studies, or Data Reports) on the following themes of interest (but not limited to):

• Technological Innovations in Toxicogenomics

• Environmental Toxicogenomics

• Toxicogenomics of emerging contaminants (Nanomaterials, endocrine disruptors, PFAS, other novel toxicants, etc.)

• Ethical, legal, and social aspects of toxicogenomic research

All submissions will undergo peer review to ensure quality and relevance. Authors are encouraged to present clear implications for toxicogenomic advancement and its role in shaping safer policies and practices
