Concerning hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, complications such as graft-versus-host disease, thrombotic microangiopathy, and impaired graft function persist. Meanwhile, the treatment dynamics for acute lymphoblastic leukemia and acute myeloid leukemia are continuously evolving amid emerging therapeutic targets and medications. Potential in managing transfusion-dependent thalassemia is seen in advancements like gene therapy, presenting new hope. Recent medical technology developments and research herald significant updates in diagnosing and treating these conditions, paving a pathway toward better prognosis and life quality for afflicted children.

This Research Topic aims to unravel recent progress in pediatric hematology, emphasizing advancements in managing complications of pediatric hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, including GVHD, TMA, and poor graft function.
