Positive psychology has emerged as a progressive field focusing on the scientific study of human flourishing, emphasizing interventions that target strengths, resilience, and overall well-being. Despite its success in demonstrating these benefits, much of the research has predominantly concentrated on general or privileged groups, leaving a void in understanding how such interventions unfold within vulnerable populations. These communities, including racial and ethnic minorities, refugees, individuals with disabilities, sexual minorities, and those living in poverty, routinely face systemic challenges, discrimination, and socioeconomic adversities that detrimentally affect their mental health. While traditional mental health interventions often fall short, emerging studies indicate that culturally customized Positive Psychology Interventions (PPIs) can fortify resilience and empowerment, highlighting a dire need for more rigorous evaluations and innovations tailored to these communities.

This Research Topic aims to critically examine and advance the development of culturally responsive, evidence-based PPIs specifically designed for vulnerable groups. The primary objective is to bridge the existing research gap by evaluating current PPIs' efficacy and innovating their delivery methods to address challenges faced by marginalized communities. Specific questions we aim to answer include how culturally adapted PPIs can enhance resilience, the potential of community-driven and digital approaches in delivering these interventions, and the long-term outcomes and mechanisms driving their effectiveness. Hypotheses around the intersectionality of systemic adversities and the consequent need for tailored psychological support form the core of this inquiry.

The research scope prioritizes culturally contextualized scientific exploration, focusing on the broad and intricate notions of PPIs across diverse vulnerable communities. We invite articles that traverse these themes with investigative rigor and inclusivity:
