These materials, including rare-earth/transition metal-doped luminescent materials, quantum dots, and perovskite nanocrystals, etc., exhibit tunable emission, high quantum yields, and robust thermal/chemical stability. Recent advances in synthesis techniques, characterization tools, and theoretical modeling have further deepened our understanding of their structure-property relationships, enabling the rational design of next-generation luminescent materials.

This research topic aims to highlight cutting-edge developments in inorganic luminescent materials, addressing key challenges such as efficiency enhancement, spectral tuning, and environmental sustainability. We seek contributions that explore novel synthesis strategies, advanced characterization methods, and innovative applications. By bridging fundamental research and practical applications, this collection will provide insights into the future directions of the field, including energy-saving lighting, High‐resolution imaging, non-destructive detection, bioimaging, anti-counterfeiting, and emerging technologies like luminescent sensors and optical temperature sensing systems.
