Current studies emphasize mechanistic toxicological research and the development of sustainable remediation strategies to combat the escalating pressures of pollution. Yet, substantial gaps persist, particularly in comprehending the intricate mechanisms of pollution and devising effective interventions.

This Research Topic strives to consolidate forefront research on pollution and toxicology to cultivate a comprehensive understanding of the risks posed by various contaminants. By doing so, it aims to integrate toxicological evidence into policy and regulatory frameworks, fostering sound decision-making processes. In addition, this topic aims to reconcile the disparities between laboratory findings and real-world exposure, promoting interdisciplinary approaches that converge environmental monitoring, toxicological analysis, and sustainable interventions.
