Pediatric glomerular diseases are among the most challenging immune-mediated kidney disorders in childhood. Conventional corticosteroids and classical immunosuppressants remain first-line therapies, yet high relapse rates, steroid dependence, significant adverse events, and treatment resistance are common. Over the past decade, biologic agents—including belimumab, anti-CD20 monoclonal antibodies, and complement inhibitors—have shown promising efficacy in refractory or relapsing cases. However, robust pediatric data on efficacy, safety, long-term outcomes, and optimal patient selection are still scarce. Well-designed multicenter studies and clinical evidence are urgently needed to translate these novel agents into evidence-based care for children with kidney diseases.

Goal

This Research Topic aims to assemble findings on immunobiological therapies for pediatric glomerular diseases, establishing an evidence base for their clinical application. By pooling original investigations, clinical trials, case series, and systematic reviews, we seek to improve treatment strategies, identify predictive biomarkers of response, and ultimately improve renal survival and quality of life for affected children.

• Efficacy and safety of biologics in childhood nephrotic syndrome
• Novel immunotherapeutic strategies for pediatric lupus nephritis, IgA nephritis and IgA vasculitis: clinical trials and real-world data
• Biomarkers predicting response to biologic or targeted therapy
• Individualized management of refractory cases: illustrative case series
• Telemedicine approaches for follow-up and adherence monitoring in pediatric renal diseases

Article types include Original Research, Case Series, Clinical Trials, Systematic Reviews/Meta-analyses, and Brief Research Reports.
