Endovascular techniques represent one of the most significant advances in modern medicine, particularly in the fields of Vascular Neurology and Neurosurgery. Notably, mechanical thrombectomy and endovascular aneurysm occlusion procedures have established their effectiveness and cost-efficiency in treating conditions like subarachnoid hemorrhage and ischemic stroke. However, in some medical areas, their adoption has been more reliant on indirect evidence and the allure of less invasive methods. Despite these constraints, the pace of endovascular innovation continues to enable the treatment of increasingly complex diseases, achieving favorable morbidity and mortality profiles.

This optimistic perception has fueled their expansion beyond aneurysmal disease and ischemic stroke, into the whole spectrum of neurovascular diseases and, more recently in many other neurosurgical fields. Furthermore, these advances have enabled the development of hybrid procedures and could potentially redefine the way in which conventional neurosurgery has approached these pathological domains. Combined with the rising influence of artificial intelligence and robotics, these advances could profoundly reshape how Neurology, Neurosurgery, and Interventional Neuroradiology are practiced.

This Research Topic aims to showcase the most recent advances, innovative techniques, and emerging trends in the treatment of both vascular and non-vascular diseases where endovascular approaches play a central role.
