The established methods, including MRI and barium enema, utilize sophisticated imaging technologies that, despite providing comprehensive insights, often face challenges related to accessibility, patient convenience, and resource allocation. Recently, enhancements in measurement accuracy, data analysis techniques, and the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) have sparked significant progress in this area.

This Research Topic aims to propel the development of efficient, patient-friendly technologies that enhance diagnostic accuracy and patient care in gastrointestinal function evaluation. By focusing on advanced methodologies and innovative applications, the goal is to address the current limitations of traditional assessment tools and to foster the integration of these new technologies into routine clinical practice.
