The global prevalence of cardiometabolic diseases (CMDs), including obesity, type 2 diabetes, hypertension, and dyslipidemia, is accelerating, often coinciding with an increased incidence and mortality across various cancer types. CMDs and cancer share common biological pathways, such as chronic inflammation, insulin resistance, and altered energy metabolism, suggesting a unified pathogenetic process. Furthermore, modern cancer treatments, including chemotherapy, radiation, and novel targeted and immunotherapies, are increasingly recognized for their potential to induce or exacerbate cardiovascular and metabolic toxicities, impacting long-term survival and quality of life for cancer survivors. This collection aims to bring together cutting-edge research to explore this intersection, moving beyond co-occurrence to investigate fundamental mechanisms, clinical prediction, and innovative mitigation strategies. We welcome submissions that advance understanding of how metabolic and cardiovascular factors shape cancer risk, biology, and survivorship, as well as studies that bridge epidemiology, molecular pathways, and clinical management.
