About this Research Topic
This Research Topic will analyse the actual role of modern neurosurgery in the treatment of primary and metastatic CNS tumors. This Research Topic will review the benefits of surgery, the extent of resection and adverse events in neurosurgical oncology, from diagnostic methods such as advanced MRI techniques, to specific surgical strategies like IMRI, awake craniotomy, intra-operative monitoring, delivery devices, and LITT.
We also would like to examine how modern neurosurgery, combined with molecular data, new chemotherapy and target therapy, TTF, immunotherapy, and modern radiotherapy strategies affect survival, disease control, and quality of life. We welcome papers which use these multidisciplinary perspectives.
Keywords: Neurosurgical treatment, CNS tumors, gliomas, brain metastasis, spinal metastasis, meningeomas
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
