About this Research Topic
Rising environmental concerns and the need to be more efficient with our resources have driven innovations in environmental and food science, from governmental policies down to nano-scale discoveries. In recent decades, supramolecular chemistry has emerged as a useful tool in the formulation of sensors for the detection of toxins in food and environment and catalysts for the conversion of pollutants into reusable materials.
This Research Topic aims to promote recent research in the use of supramolecular chemistry for applications such as the detection of pesticides and food contaminants, identification and separation of pollutants, catalytic degradation of environmental pollutants, and catalytic conversion of municipal solid wastes into energy resources.
We welcome the submission of Original Research and Review articles in themes including:
• Supramolecular sensor for environmental and food monitoring,
• Supramolecular probe for application in food safety detection,
• Development of separation technology based on supramolecular chemistry,
• New supramolecular approach for the development of chemosensors,
• New signaling, recognition, and amplification mechanism for supramolecular sensor development,
• Multifunctional catalytic/chemosensing supramolecular device,
• Catalytic degradation and conversion of pollutant and municipal solid waste,
• New material based on supramolecular chemistry for environmental monitoring and pollutant degradation, and
• Supramolecular and constitutional dynamic chemistry for environmental and food application.
