This Research Topic includes high quality case reports published in the general cardiovascular medicine section of the journal in 2021. The mission of General Cardiovascular Medicine is to advance our understanding of personalized approaches to cardiovascular diagnosis and treatment, beginning with the patient physician communication, to bedside clinical assessment, advanced diagnostic and imaging technologies.

Case reports aim to highlight unique cases of patients that present with an unexpected/unusual diagnosis, treatment outcome, or clinical course. Case reports provide insight into the differential diagnosis, decision making, and clinical management of unusual cases and are a valuable educational tool.
