The Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathways are a group of signal transduction pathways that play crucial roles in several cellular processes, such as differentiation, proliferation, migration, and apoptosis. Wnt/β catenin signaling is highly conserved across species and due to its prominent role in the cell fate, it is often deregulated during tumorigenesis and cancer progression.
Despite the great efforts to understand the events that lead to the aberrant activation of the Wnt/β-catenin signaling cascade in cancer, a full picture is still missing. Lately, several studies have shown that non-coding RNA (ncRNA) molecules can modulate Wnt pathways through different mechanisms. This Research Topic aims to provide insights into the role of the ncRNAs/Wnt/β-catenin axis in cancer.
We welcome Original Research articles and Reviews articles focusing on but not limited to:
- Molecular mechanisms by which ncRNAs regulate Wnt/β-catenin in cancer
- Identification of members of the ncRNAs/Wnt/β-catenin axis involved in tumorigenesis and tumor progression
- The role of ncRNAs as potential therapeutic targets in Wnt/β-catenin driven cancers
Please note: manuscripts consisting solely of bioinformatics or computational analysis of public genomic or transcriptomic databases which are not accompanied by validation (independent cohort or biological validation in vitro or in vivo) are out of scope for this section and will not be accepted as part of this Research Topic.
