This Research Topic is aimed at further understanding the role of lipid metabolism in obesity. Lipid metabolism can be altered by genetics, diet, environmental factors and medical treatment or prevention. The following research areas are in scope for the Topic:

- Molecular mechanisms underlying the effect of dietary saturated and unsaturated fatty acids on hepatic metabolism
- Nutritional supplements in the management of obesity and dyslipidemia
- Role of extracellular vesicle in obesity-related diseases
- The role of gut microbiota in the management of obesity-related diseases
- The gut-brain axis and the control of food intake

We welcome the submission of different article types to this collection, especially original research articles.

Even though abstract submission is not mandatory, we encourage all interested researchers to submit an abstract before submitting their manuscript. Abstracts do not have to coincide with the final abstract of the manuscripts.
