About this Research Topic
Recent research has identified an overgrowing number of biomarkers related to clinical outcome in patients with coronary artery disease. As such, there is an ongoing search for identification of the most powerful combination of such prognostic markers which reflects several pathophysiological mechanisms including inflammation, coagulation, necrosis and, heart failure.
This Research Topic will include contributions on novel systemic or focal biological markers of demonstrated and hypothetical significance related to clinical outcome in subjects with coronary heart disease. Led by an international team of experts, this editors encourages an overview of the research frontlines of this topic to bring the reader up to date on how to best apply the current knowledge into clinical practice. Additionally, the editors encourage original research, case reports and manuscripts which advance current knowledge in coronary heart disease.
Keywords: #CollectionSeries, biomarkers, prognosis, coronary heart disease
