About this Research Topic
In this Research Topic, we aim to collect a series of high-quality studies related to technological applications in science/STEM education and professional development among teachers, as well as innovations in the teaching and learning of various STEM subjects. We also welcome studies attempting to address how technologies can be applied in laboratory-based learning, which is one of the fundamental components in science education. Furthermore, we are interested in contributions that provide insights into the challenges and opportunities involved in adopting technology or innovative approaches that enhance science/STEM education and provide an interactive learning environment even during a pandemic.
Empirical or review studies, as well as all article types accepted by Frontiers in Education, are welcome. Contributions may include (but are not limited to) the following themes:
• Innovations in science/STEM education
• Teaching practice and teacher professional development in STEM subjects
• Teacher competencies in science/STEM education
• Technology-enhanced learning in science/STEM education
• Science and sustainable education
• Interdisciplinary approaches in science education
• Laboratory learning
• Online learning in science
