About this Research Topic
Polar microbiology is an expanding field of research with exciting possibilities to provide new insights into microbial ecology and evolution. With this topic we seek to bring together polar microbiologists studying different aquatic systems and components of the microbial food web, to stimulate discussion and reflect on these sensitive environments in a changing world perspective. We welcome any contribution studying polar microbial life, from viruses to unicellular eukaryotes, in lakes, marine and sea-ice systems.
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
