About this Research Topic
This Research Topic focuses on low-cost and efficient materials for clean energy utilization in clean energy storage and conversion, such as advanced batteries, supercapacitors, fuel cells, and electrolyzers. The purpose of this proposal is to address the following issues: (i) how to find efficient and cost-effective materials for a specific clean energy storage application efficiently; (ii) how the designed materials are synthesized; (iii) how to improve the performance of the materials.
The Topic Editors invite scientists and investigators to contribute original research and review articles on areas which are listed below but are not limited to:
• Screen low-cost and efficient materials for clean energy utilization in clean energy storage and conversion in advanced batteries /supercapacitors/ fuel cells/ electrolyzers through machine learning methods;
• Ways to design and synthesize low-cost and efficient materials;
• Non-precious metal-based catalysts for clean energy storage and conversion;
• Single-atom catalysts for electrolyzers;
• Strategies to improve the materials’ performance applied in the clean energy storage and conversion devices.
Keywords: clean energy, single-atom catalyst, low cost, advanced battery, supercapacitor, fuel cell, electrocatalysis
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
