Children are entitled to every single right to attain the highest standard of health. Oral health is an integral part of general health, and children’s right to access optimal oral healthcare should never be denied. However, oral diseases are still highly prevalent among children across the globe. Poor oral health detrimentally impacts on children’s quality of life and prolongingly hinders their future growth and development. Dental caries was found among 621 million children worldwide and was mostly untreated due to inadequate awareness and high treatment costs. Other oral diseases, including periodontal diseases, malocclusion, and certain oral malignancies, can be prevented if interventions are implemented at a young age. However, these oral conditions are often overlooked among children and adolescents.

Every child deserves the highest standard of health, including optimal oral healthcare. However, oral diseases continue to affect a significant number of children worldwide, impacting their quality of life and hindering their overall growth and development. The prevalence of untreated dental caries alone stands at a staggering 621 million children globally, primarily due to limited awareness and high treatment costs. Additionally, conditions such as periodontal diseases, malocclusion, and certain oral malignancies can be prevented through early interventions. Unfortunately, these oral health issues often go unnoticed among children and adolescents.

This Research Topic aims to gather articles that explore evidence-based methods for preventing oral diseases among children and improving their access to quality oral healthcare. We invite original research and reviews that shed light on effective strategies, interventions, and policies to promote better oral health practices for children. By providing insights to both clinicians and researchers, this collection will inform and enhance pediatric oral healthcare.

We encourage submissions that address various aspects of children's oral health, including preventive measures, early intervention approaches, community-based programs, oral health education, and the role of caregivers in promoting oral hygiene. Additionally, studies focusing on reducing barriers to access oral healthcare, improving affordability, and increasing awareness among caregivers and healthcare providers are highly valued.

Join us in this research endeavor aimed at revolutionizing children's oral health. By sharing knowledge, evidence-based practices, and innovative solutions, we can work towards improving pediatric oral health outcomes, reducing oral disease burden, and ensuring every child has access to the oral healthcare they deserve.
