All contributing authors were selected by nomination of their peers in recognition of their prominence and influence in their respective fields, or by virtue of their reputation in the research community. The cutting-edge work presented in this article collection highlights the diversity of research performed across the entire breadth of the chemistry field, and reflects on the latest advances in the theory, experiment, and methodology with applications to compelling problems.
