About this Research Topic
In this special issue, we aim to cover advances in vision science related to sports performance, as well as innovations in ocular injury prevention and treatment in athletics. We seek to encompass a wide range of sports, spanning both contact and non-contact disciplines. Furthermore, we intend to shed light on the officials' and referees' perspective on vision in sports, recognizing the importance of proficient vision in officiating at the highest levels.
We invite authors to submit articles related to vision science and ophthalmology in any sport. We also welcome submissions that focus on perspectives and research in vision science for sports officiating and advancements in this field. Expert clinician perspectives are highly encouraged, particularly articles that provide insights into the prevention and treatment of ocular injuries during sporting events. We are interested in receiving original research articles, reviews, perspectives, and commentary from experts in the field.
