We are currently living in the digital era, where an increasing number of devices have become a part of our daily lives. The recent advancements in technology, particularly Artificial Intelligence (AI), have made it easier for us to use and analyse data. AI is rapidly expanding and flourishing across all sectors. One subset of AI that has recently garnered a lot of attention is Generative AI, which involves creating or generating new content such as 2D and 3D images, text, or audio.
In the field of dentistry, the combination of Large Language/Vision/Multimodality Models holds great potential. This combination can be utilised to generate dental prosthetic designs, providing individualised treatment planning, and improving dentist-patient communication and dental education. However, at the moment, very few applications of generative AI in dental field is demonstrated. The goal of this research topic is to explore and investigate the potential of Generative AI in dentistry, and uncover new ways in which Generative AI can be applied to enhance dental practices and education.
All topics related to the applications of generative AI used in dentistry are welcome. We welcome submissions of original research, review and systematic review, clinical trial and case report.
