Supply chains, manufacturing, warehouses, and building evacuations can be optimised using artificial intelligence (AI) and simulation techniques to enhance efficiency, safety, and responsiveness in logistical operations and emergency scenarios. In addition, organisations are able to improve resource allocation and reduce costs across their supply chains by automating certain tasks. AI and simulation can also improve the layout design and the inventory placement in warehouse management and are useful tools in developing efficient building evacuation plans to achieve the minimum time of evacuation and ensure human safety.
This Special Issue seeks original research papers on supply chain, manufacturing, warehouse,
and building evacuation optimisation using artificial intelligence and simulation. This Research Topic aims to be useful and insightful to academics, practitioners, and readers.
