Neuro-ophthalmology focuses on diseases that affect the optic nerve and the visual pathways. Due to the complexity of the visual and central nervous systems, accurate and early diagnostics are crucial. Recent advances in imaging technology have greatly enhanced our understanding and capability in diagnosing and potentially treating disorders such as optic neuritis, ischemic optic neuropathy, and glaucoma-related visual field defects. However, despite these technological advances, challenges remain in early diagnosis and precise imaging, which could lead to faster and more effective treatments.

This Research Topic aims to address these challenges by consolidating the latest advancements and research in imaging within neuro-ophthalmology. We seek to explore how novel imaging techniques can improve diagnostic accuracy, prognosis, and the understanding of pathophysiological mechanisms underlying neuro-ophthalmic diseases. By focusing on innovative imaging solutions, this topic intends to bridge the gap between current challenges and future possibilities, paving the way for implementation in clinical practice.
