This Frontiers in Nutrition Research Topic, "Vegetarian Dietary Patterns in the Prevention and Treatment of Disease", is intended for clinical and academic health professionals, registered dietitians, graduate students, and for everybody with deeper interest in prevention and treatment of chronic disease through diet. Original Research studies and Reviews presented here will demonstrate that research on health benefits of vegetarian dietary patterns is extensive and vibrant and the prevention, treatment and reversal of chronic disease are achievable, economical, powerful, and possible.
