Molecular methods and mass spectrometry, with great advantages over traditional methods for its high sensitivity, short turnaround time, and ability to detect multiple pathogens simultaneously, have been widely used in clinical scenarios. For example, in recent years, multiplex PCR and MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry have been used in simultaneous detection of multiple pathogens. With the ability to perform microbial identification, bacterial typing, and antibiotic resistance analysis, mass spectrometry has become a weapon for infectious diseases diagnosis. It plays an increasingly important role in formulating accurate treatment plans in time and effectively controlling infectious diseases.
