Online learning (E-Learning/ Mobile Learning/ Emergency Remote Teaching (ERT)) has played a significant role during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Online learning systems came to rescue the jeopardized teaching and learning process during this emergency need. Generally, Online learning systems in different modes are widely being used in higher academic institutions to assist the traditional teaching and learning process. Online learning systems proved its worth by collaborating teaching and learning through knowledge sharing and research. However, though fruitful by many means, online learning systems face challenges of inadequate resources such as, relevant infrastructure, state-of-the-art technology, skilled instructors etc. Looking to the challenges, online learning systems cannot be ignored but need to be made sustainable in future era.

The aim of this collection is to make online learning systems sustainable in future era. Online learning systems may be revisited in view of the upcoming technology using Machine learning, Data mining to take the advantages of data analytics. The past experience of online learning systems may be revisited to make the system sustainable and user-friendly for its stakeholders. Decision making in online learning systems plays a vital role in the selection of LMS, state-of-the-art technology etc. Multicriteria Decision making is an essential tool in making effective and sustainable decision making. Many enablers and inhibitors affect the online learning systems hence it is essential to evaluate them for successful commencement of online learning systems. Many researchers stressed on Critical Success Factors (CSFs) for successful online learning systems, hence upcoming researchers must revisit for sustainability of online learning systems in future era.

The scope of the present Research Topic is to provide sustainability to online learning systems in future era. The areas of interest include, but are not limited to the following:
• Systematic Literature Review (SLR) in online Learning systems
• Multiple-criteria decision-making (MCDM) in online Learning systems
• Machine learning in online learning systems
• Learning Analytics
• Stakeholders role in online learning systems
• Students’ psychology in online learning systems
• Online learning system preparedness
• Critical Success Factors (CSFs) for online learning systems
• Online learning system Enablers and Inhibitors
• Academic information systems
• Open Education Technology
• Quality in Online Learning
• Emerging Technologies in online learning systems

Keywords: Sustainable Online Learning system, E-Learning, Mobile Learning, Emergency Remote Teaching (ERT), Critical Success Factors (CSFs), Decision Making
