Today's industry trends are moving towards energy conservation, environmental protection and planetary sustainability in the development of new products. In these circumstances, the intelligent and functional composites posed by the industrial requirements become highly crucial. Intelligent and functional composites are particularly interested in basic science and applied research because of their high technological potential in producing new materials with customized properties and performance beyond existing technologies. The purpose and scope of study in the field are to develop materials with excellent mechanical, physical, chemical and biological properties. Different materials can produce many composite materials, mainly by their composition. Additionally, their resources, processing and functions can be environmental friendly. The purpose of this Research Topic is to exchange ideas and practical actions of scholars in different fields on energy conservation and global sustainability.
