About this Research Topic
Biodegradable materials (photodegradation, water degradation, biodegradation), natural resources, and waste recycling are all good methods to solve the pollution problem of petroleum-based materials, agricultural wastes and industrial wastes, and domestic garbage in the world. Biomass is also a potential renewable feedstock for biopolymers. New materials can be produced or reused through synthesis, extraction, processing, or treatment. There are quite a lot of relevant research in recent years, but very few can really be transformed into products. This Research Topic aims to explore more feasible biodegradable materials, biomass materials, recycled materials, or waste recycling as the target of potential market applications. It is expected to make some contributions to global carbon neutralization and carbon peaking.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
• Biodegradable Polymers
• Synthetic and natural biopolymers
• Water-soluble polymer
• Plant fiber reinforced composites
• Synthesis and application of natural sources
• Agricultural waste recycling and products
• Industrial waste recycling and utilization
• Bio-based materials
• Membrane materials for water treatment, solvent recovery, and seawater desalination
