About this Research Topic
Considering the challenges which arise with pharmacologic and dietary restrictions when managing diabetes and its pre-cursors, the goal of this research topic is to allow physicians and scientists from across the globe to share their translational/clinical findings regarding supplements to prevent, treat, or reverse diabetes and its precursors. It’s important to understand the bench to bedside supplemental approaches to improve diabetic prevention and outcomes.
Specific themes of interest include but are not limited to:
• Supplements for the improvement of diabetes precursory conditions, including polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS)
• Vitamin D for diabetes prevention and management
• Inositol for insulin resistance management
• Probiotics for the management of gestational diabetes mellitus
• Magnesium for managing Type II diabetes
• Vitamin B12 for managing diabetic neuropathy
• The role of prebiotics in diabetes management
• Herbal medicines for the management of insulin resistance
