About this Research Topic
In a typical concept, tools employed in precision medicine can include molecular diagnostics, imaging, and analytics. In terms of treatment, precision drug is a critical and indispensable part of precision medicine. It often involves the application of panomic analysis and systems biology to analyze the cause of an individual patient’s disease at the molecular level and then to utilize targeted treatments (possibly in combination) to address that individual patient’s disease process, thus demanding for the challenging efforts of precision design of drugs for different individuals.
The Research Topic covers a wide range of areas such as drug target identification and validation, pharmacogenomics, systems biology and network pharmacology, chemical biology, dynamic behavior of proteins, drug design of allosteric protein, drug binding kinetics, binding free energy calculation, rational drug design, development of methodologies and technologies in drug design, clinical case report of molecular targeting drug, etc.
Taken together this Research Topic will highlight the advances and perspectives of precision drug design, with the help of computational structure-based drug design, artificial intelligence analysis of big data, and other state-of- the-art techniques.
Keywords: Precision drug, Precision drug design, Systems biology, Structure-based drug design, Artificial intelligence, Big data
