The Dark or Bright Side of Entrepreneurship

Objective: To understand the current situation of vocational college students' mental health, take depression as independent variable, and explore the mechanism of social support and mental toughness as mediating variables on vocational college students' career efficacy, so as to provide basis for effectively improving teenagers' career efficacy, promoting teenagers' mental health and future development. Methods: A total of 780 students in the first and second grades of high school in vocational schools were selected as the research objects by random cluster sampling. The questionnaire survey was conducted by the 9-item Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9), Resilience Scale for Chinese Adolescents (RSCA), Social Support Rate Scale (SSRS) and career decision self-efficacy scale of secondary vocational students. Results: Depression was negatively correlated with occupational efficacy, mental toughness and social support (P < 0.01). Psychological resilience was negatively correlated with occupational efficacy (P < 0.01), while social support was positively correlated with occupational efficacy (P < 0.01). The influence of mental toughness on occupational efficacy showed a masking effect, and the indirect effect accounted for 18.90% of the direct effect.Social support plays a partial mediating role in the effect of depression on occupational efficacy, accounting for 35.87% of the total effect. Conclusion: Psychological resilience shows masking effect in the influence of depression on occupational efficacy, which is limited and influenced by personal cognition, and emphasizes the importance of emotional management. Social support plays an important role in reducing adolescent depression and improving adolescent occupational efficacy, and can effectively alleviate the adverse effects of depression on adolescent occupational efficacy. It is suggested that family, school and individual efforts should be made to strengthen the social support network, improve the psychological resilience of adolescents, and help improve their mental health level and professional efficacy.

The effect of depression on occupational efficacy of higher vocational college students: the mediating role of psychological resilience and social support

Introduction: Developmental Language Disorder is a common developmental disorder that affects 7% of both preschool and school-aged children. Children with DLD typically demonstrate simpler syntax, higher rates of grammatical errors and greater difficulty acquiring new vocabulary in comparison to typically developing (TD) children. Research has shown that children with DLD have significant language difficulties that result in poor narrative performance. Methods: In this paper, the narrative skills of monolingual children with DLD and typically developing (TD) children are examined at the macrostructural level, using one of the most common methods of assessing narrative skills, picture retelling. The sample consists of 100 preschool and school-aged children (50 with DLD and 50 TD), aged 5 to 11 years, who were matched according to chronological age, socioeconomic status and language input received at home. The parameters measured are story structure, structural complexity and Internal State Terms (IST).The research hypotheses of the study were: a) Children with DLD will present lower performance than TD children in the parameter of story structure, b) Children with DLD are expected to present lower performance than TD children in the parameter of structural complexity, c) Children with DLD will present lower performance than TD children in the parameter of expressing Internal State Terms and d) There will be a significant dependence between the groups (children with DLD and TD children) and the subcategories of the story structure.The results confirmed all the above hypotheses except for the hypothesis that there is a significant dependence between the groups of children in the subcategories of the story structure.The findings of our study revealed that the narratives skills of children with DLD are more affected at the level of macrostructure than those of children with Typical Development (TD). However, a significant dependence between the groups (children with DLD and TD children) and the subcategories of the story structure was found only in five out of sixteen components in the three episodes of the story, a finding which is discussed on the basis of the limitations included in the present study.

Narrative skills of children with Developmental Language Disorder (DLD): Retelling in Macrostructure

The aim of this paper is to present and discuss an approach to address the spatial variation in the degree and type of omnivory exhibited by human populations that inhabited the temperate zone of South America east of the Andes (30º-56º S) during the late Holocene. This approach is based on the interpolation mapping of transformed isotopic niches, understood as the position occupied by an individual or group of individuals in a space that results from transforming one or more of the delta (δ) variables that specify the original isotopic niche (e.g., δ15N [‰]) into derived variables such as trophic position (TP). Our results indicate a strong spatial structuring of both transformed isotopic niches and three omnivory categories (OC I, OC II, and OC III), defined by ranges of TP values (i.e., 2.0–2.99; 3.0–3.99; equal to or greater than 4.0). Among the factors that likely structured spatial variation in the degree and type of omnivory are those characterizing the physical environment (e.g., net primary productivity or NPP, effective temperature or ET) and the biotic environment (e.g., differential distribution of marine biota). Since these factors have confounding effects, it is difficult to distinguish, given our current state of knowledge, which is the most important. For this reason, we conclude that macroecological analyses are needed that go beyond pattern recognition to address the identification and explanation of underlying processes.

Spatial Variation in Human Omnivory During the Late Holocene in Southern South America: An Assessment Based on Transformed Isotopic Niches Mapping

Purpose: To investigate the performance of retrospective self-gating techniques in combination with the single-petal rosette (SPR) trajectory for 2D imaging of the lung. Methods: Eight healthy volunteers underwent free-breathing and breath-hold MRI using the single-petal rosette trajectory (SPR), as well as radial UTE acquisition combined with the tiny golden angle acquisition scheme. Retrospective self-gating techniques (k-space based, image based and nuSG) were used for reconstruction with temporal resolutions of 50 ms, 75 ms and 100 ms. The SPR trajectory was compared with the conventional radial UTE technique regarding image sharpness and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) for all investigated resolutions. Results: Low-spatial high-temporal resolution images used for image-based self-gating techniques benefit from more the efficient k-space sampling pattern of SPR. Image sharpness values are lower for SPR compared with radial UTE for all temporal resolutions but especially prominent for 75 ms temporal resolution. The same was found for SNR, where the highest increase was found for a temporal resolution of 75 ms. Conclusion: Exploiting the higher efficiency in k-space sampling of the full-petal SPR for image based self-gating can be a means of decreasing temporal resolution.

Retrospective Self-Gating for Single-Petal Rosette Trajectory in 2D Lung Imaging

Background and AimsTo report the results of different treatment fractionation schedules and modalities in our Phase III randomized controlled trial, MC1635, with a focus on proton therapy outcomes.MethodsBetween February 2018 and February 2020, patients with localized breast cancer (pT0-3 pN0-1 M0) were offered participation in a Phase 3 randomized clinical trial comparing adjuvant hypofractionation (HF) to 40 Gy in 15 fractions versus ultra-hypofractionation (UHF) to 25 Gy in 5 fractions to the breast or chest wall without nodal radiation, with an optional simultaneously integrated boost. Patients were offered treatment with proton therapy or x-ray radiation and based on their decision dynamically allocated in permuted blocks allowing for meaningful comparisons within the same modality.ResultsOne hundred seven patients were randomized to receive UHF (n=53; x-rays n=26, protons n=27) and HF (n=54; x-rays n=28, protons n=26) adjuvant radiation. The median follow-up was 51 months. Proton therapy or x-rays showed no grade ≥3 adverse events, and one cosmetic deterioration from good to poor (p=0.99). Overall cumulative grade 2 toxicity was 4.2%, (x-rays UHF 0%, HF 0%; protons UHF 3.7%, HF 15.4%). Analyses of grade 2 toxicity by modality showed a minimally significant difference favoring x-rays over protons (-0.09; 95% CI -0.02 – -0.17). However, interactions between modality and fractionation showed grade 2 toxicity for UHF was no different between protons and x-rays (0.04; 95% CI -0.03-0.11), while for HF, there was a minimal benefit for x-rays (0.15; 95% CI 0.02-0.29). In the analysis of QoL, we observed uniform benefits for UHF over HF regardless of modality for skin burning at the end of treatment EOT (p<0.01), itching at EOT (p<0.01), and skin color at EOT (p<0.01). Five-year freedom from invasive local failure, as well as cause-specific and overall survival, was 100% for all cases. Disease-free survival at 5 years for all groups was 96% (95% CI 91-100%) and not different among them p=0.49.ConclusionsUltra-hypofractionated radiation with protons or x-rays, delivering 25 Gy over five treatments, was associated with low adverse events and improved QoL of mild severity or higher. Within modalities, UHF vs HF showed a larger benefit for proton therapy.

Impact on Outcomes of Ultra Hypofractionation or Hypofractionation Regimens and Proton or Xrays Therapy in a Phase III Randomized Controlled Trial MC1635

Background: Evaluation of vector control tools follows a phased approach, progressing from laboratory studies to semi-field trials in experimental huts, and finally to small-scale (in-home test) and large-scale (randomized control trials) field evaluations under user conditions.Method selection depends on the specific data objectives.We assessed the entomological efficacy of the transfluthrin-based spatial repellent product SC Johnson Mosquito Shield™ in free-flight chambers, semi-field and field experimental hut trials, and an in-home test against Afrotropical malaria vectors. We focused on efficacy endpoints and mosquito collection methods to inform evidence-based evaluation of spatial repellents.Results: Mosquito Shield reduced number of mosquitoes blood-feeding and landing, and also induced mortality, exophily, and deterrence at different magnitudes across the testing methods. However, not all endpoints were measurable with every method. Landing reductions were measured using human landing catches and remained similar in magnitude across experimental hut tests in the semi-field (71%) and field (70%), as well as in-home tests (66%), but were higher in the free-flight chambers (96%) using a susceptible mosquito strain. Other endpoints (mortality, and exophily) generally showed higher estimates in controlled environments with lab-reared mosquitoes, compared to ambient conditions with wild, freeflying mosquitoes.This study supports the use of multiple test methods to generate entomological efficacy data required for country registrations, WHO prequalification dossiers, and postdeployment monitoring. The findings highlight the strengths and limitations of free-flight chambers, semi-field systems, experimental huts, and in-home tests in generating efficacy data for new spatial repellent products. These results support integration of Mosquito Shield into malaria vector control programs pending further operational evaluation. Efficacy of the spatial repellent SC Johnson Mosquito Shield™ against Anophelines in free-flight chambers, semi-field systems, experimental huts, and in-home tests

Muscle-invasive bladder cancer (MIBC) is a prevalent disease that can be treated with radiotherapy, but has a poor prognosis. Radiation-induced extracellular matrix (ECM) remodelling and fibrosis can induce tumour resistance and recurrence, but have not been studied in MIBC. Here, we aimed to characterise the impact of radiation on the ECM composition of MIBC. Materials and Methods. Three MIBC cell lines (T24, UMUC3, J82) were treated with fractionated radiation. We used proteomics to analyse the ECM composition produced by surviving cancer cells and immunofluorescence to investigate changes in the morphology and number of ECM fibres. We evaluated the RNA expression of identified ECM proteins (FN1, COL5A1, COL1A1, TNF6AIP6, FLG) in one cystectomy (TCGA-BLCA, n=397) and two radiotherapy (BC2001, n=313; BCON, n=151) cohorts. Results. There were 613 proteins affected by radiation (padj<0.05, fold change >2 or <-2), 68 of which were ECMassociated proteins. There was a general increase in proteases and protease regulators but heterogeneity across cell lines. Enrichment analysis showed ECM organisation was the primary pathway affected. Immunofluorescence confirmed radiation affected ECM structure, generally, reducing the number, length and width of fibres. Five ECM genes of interest were identified (COL1A1, COL5A2, FN1, FLG, TNFAIP6), constituting an ECM signature. High FN1, COL1A1, TNF6AIP6 mRNA levels and ECM signature scores were independent poor prognostic markers, while FLG mRNA expression independently predicted radiotherapy benefit in a meta-analysis (n=861). We found high COL1A1 expression levels predicted hypoxia-modifying treatment benefit. Prognostic significance of COL5A2, FN1 and the ECM signature was dependent on patients harbouring TP53-mutations. Conclusion. Radiation alters the composition and structure of the ECM produced by MIBC. As a proof-of-concept, we showed that radiation-affected ECM genes are independent prognostic and predictive markers of radiotherapy benefit in MIBC. Future studies should validate these radiationinduced ECM changes in clinical samples, and explore the role of FLG in radioresistance.
