About this Research Topic

Abstract Submission Deadline 25 September 2022
Manuscript Submission Deadline 01 December 2022

ECCM ( link) is a leading conference in the field of composite materials, which takes place every 2 years in a European country, and will take place on June 22 in Lausanne, Switzerland. The main theme of the conference is composites meet sustainability, and we propose to focus for this special collection on papers related to advanced manufacturing, with sustainability in mind.

This collection aims to gather contributions from ECCM 20 related to advanced manufacturing methods and automation for composite materials, with a particular emphasis on their role in sustainability. Examples may include biocomposites, novel resin materials and polymerization techniques, low-energy manufacturing methods, process modeling, and characterization for better efficiency and reduction of waste materials.

Contributors should have submitted an abstract/paper at the conference ECCM 20 in Lausanne and should prepare research manuscripts.

Keywords: Manufacturing, automation, sustainable manufacturing, process modelling, biocomposites

Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
