Despite many attempts, current treatment approaches always suffer from inevitable limitations that lead to unsatisfactorily therapeutic outcomes. Rapid progress of nanobiotechnology has sparked a revolution in oncological therapy and tissue restoration. Thereinto, innovative strategies based on versatile nanobiomaterials are significant of interest due to their excitingly positive treatment outcomes. Meanwhile, these advanced nanobiomaterials present a variety of merits (e.g., targeting, microenvironment modulation, high efficacy, biosafety) and show great potential as therapeutic tools in precise nanomedicine and regenerative medicine. To provide deeper insights into oncological treatment and tissue restoration, the most striking findings or latest research progress in the design of ingenious strategies employing versatile nanobiomaterials will be highlighted in this research topic.
This Research Topic aims to:
1) Better understand the interactions between advanced nanobio-system and complex tissues/tumors, and provide a platform to elaborate possible cellular or molecular mechanisms involved in oncological treatment and defected tissue restoration.
2) Discuss and share innovatively and rationally designed strategies and solutions to surmount currently existing physiological challenges and possible clinical translation hurdles, which shed light on future directions of nanobiomaterials-based disease interventions and treatment.
3) Identify and compare pros and cons of these innovatively designed nanobio-system in the actual utilization for precise nanomedicine and regenerative medicine, and ultimately boost the translation of elaborate nanobiomaterials from fundamental research to clinical medicine.
The Research Topic focus on promising, innovative strategies using versatile nanobiomaterials for optimizing oncological therapy or/and enhancing defected tissue restoration.
