Background

The field of nanotechnology has revolutionized drug delivery, specifically in the treatment of respiratory diseases/ailments. Nanocarriers have emerged as excellent drug delivery tools to improve the efficacy and safety of therapeutic interventions. This special issue focuses on the innovative application of nanotechnology in respiratory drug delivery, aiming to address challenges and opportunities in the design, fabrication, and evaluation of nanoscale (nanomedicine) delivery systems. Respiratory diseases like asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), cystic fibrosis, and pulmonary infections pose significant global burdens. Conventional drug delivery methods often face limitations, including poor bioavailability, non-specific targeting, and systemic side effects. Nanotechnology offers a promising solution by enabling targeted delivery, controlled release, and improved stability of therapeutic agents. This special issue seeks to highlight cutting-edge research in developing nanocarriers and nanoparticles tailored for respiratory applications, fostering advancements in the treatment of lung-related disorders.

We invite contributions that explore the following areas:
• Design and Fabrication of Nanocarriers
• Drug Formulations and Delivery Systems
• Targeting Strategies
• In Vitro and In Vivo Testing
• Regulatory and Translational Challenges

This special issue provides a platform for researchers to showcase their work at the forefront of nanotechnology and respiratory drug delivery. By contributing, you will be part of a collaborative effort to advance the field, bridge the gap between research and clinical application, and ultimately improve outcomes for patients with respiratory diseases. We look forward to receiving your submissions and fostering a vibrant discussion on the transformative potential of nanotechnology in respiratory medicine.

We welcome the following types of submissions: Original Research Articles, Review Articles/Mini-Reviews.
