The Internet of Value is expected to have the capacity for transformative alterations in monetary values, products, and the exchange of knowledge. Therefore, it has the potential to significantly impact organizations, business models, operations, and workers. Nevertheless, the understanding and characterization of the Internet of Value and its capacity to affect all aspects of the triple bottom line of sustainability are still unclear. As a reaction, we undertook extensive research to gain a thorough knowledge of the Internet of Value. This analysis included examining its definition, ramifications, requirements, and hazards, with a particular focus on its potential for promoting sustainability. The results emphasize contrasting viewpoints about the notion of the Internet of Value and the interconnections between technologies like blockchain, the Internet of Things, and artificial intelligence. In addition, an examination is conducted on digital platforms, tokenization, and smart contracts to provide a comprehensive framework for the Internet of Value. Our objective is to thoroughly assess the Internet of Value and its possible effects on scholars and practitioners. The continual refinement and interaction of technologies, ideas, and obstacles contribute to a shared understanding of the notion of an Internet of Value and enable purpose-driven development. These are supported by the research paths created to stimulate enquiries in numerous fields of study.
