Background

This Research Topic is dedicated to advancing reproducibility and best practices in epigenomics research through the publication of rigorous protocols and methodological guidelines. We welcome submissions presenting step-by-step methodologies, either novel techniques or significant refinements of established protocols, with emphasis on transparency, scalability, and utility across diverse settings.

A special section, Affordable Epigenomics, will highlight cost-effective protocols and workflows designed to increase access to cutting-edge methods. Submissions detailing anchor protocols, troubleshooting tips, and guidance for adapting methods to different sample types and resources are highly encouraged. By building this protocols-focused resource, we aim to support the global epigenomics community with clear, accessible, and practical solutions.

Submission Guidelines

Manuscripts should follow the Frontiers Methods article format. Authors are encouraged to focus in detail on the Materials and Equipment and Methods sections, providing clear, reproducible procedures. Other sections (Abstract, Introduction, Results, Discussion) should be kept concise, highlighting only key points and protocol-specific innovations. If the protocol is based on a published method, cite the original work for background and concentrate on improvements, adaptations, and troubleshooting.

Our goal is to maximize the practical value of each contribution, making protocols easy to implement and widely accessible.
