Background

In response to the growing demand for resilient and sustainable infrastructure, this Research Topic aims to gather cutting-edge research at the intersection of structures and infrastructure systems, uncertainty and reliability quantification, and risk- and resilience-oriented assessment methodologies. The goal is to advance scientific understanding and practical approaches that enable the design and operation of robust, reliable, and resilient infrastructure systems.

We welcome contributions that promote theoretical development, experimental validation, data-driven modeling, and multi-hazard performance assessment of structural and infrastructure systems. Studies that demonstrate innovative applications in real-world projects or provide integrated frameworks for resilience-based decision-making are particularly encouraged.

This Research Topic invites original research and review articles addressing methodological advances and practical applications related to infrastructure resilience and reliability. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

1.Reliability, risk, and resilience assessment of structures and infrastructure systems

2.Multi-hazard performance evaluation (e.g., seismic, wind, flood, fire, corrosion)

3.Probabilistic modeling and uncertainty quantification in structural and infrastructure engineering

4.Data-driven and machine learning approaches for performance assessment and decision-making

5.Experimental studies and model validation for resilience enhancement

6.Lifecycle analysis, deterioration modeling, and maintenance optimization

7.Risk-informed design and management frameworks for infrastructure resilience

8.Case studies demonstrating real-world implementation of resilience-based engineering
