Continuous manure applications drive the Actinomycetes community to improve labile organic carbon fractions in Mollisols

    This paper presents the findings of a 10-year field experiment investigating the effects of manure addition on soil organic carbon (SOC) components and soil actinomycetes in Changchun, Jilin, Northeast China. By examining the effects of different organic fertilizer types (pig, cow, and chicken) combined with chemical fertilizer, we aimed to understand their influence on SOC components and soil actinomycetes. Our findings highlight the importance of adding different organic materials to support biodiversity conservation and enhance ecological environment services such as surface carbon storage and soil conservation. Furthermore, our research sheds light on the role of microbial fixation in soil carbon dynamics, providing valuable insights into the understanding of the carbon cycle. We believe that our study aligns well with the aims and scope of [Frontiers in Microbiology], particularly its focus on anthropogenic effects on the microbial communities of terrestrial ecosystems. The novelty of our findings, the rigorous experimental design, and the comprehensive data analysis make this manuscript a suitable candidate for publication.
