About this Research Topic

This Research Topic is still accepting articles.

Background

Following the success of our past in-person conferences, our UCI Center for Neural Circuit Mapping (CNCM) is continuing the Neural Circuit conference series. This Research Topic serves as a repository of the research presentations and communications at the 2024 summer conference titled “Brain Cell Types, Circuits and Disorders” (August 19-21, 2024), co-sponsored by the Cajal Club and the UC Irvine Center for Neural Circuit Mapping. The main Conference will take place at the Beckman Center of the National Academies of Sciences & Engineering near the UC Irvine campus located in the beautiful city of Irvine in Southern California. Our conference provides a formal forum for leaders and attendees from diverse institutions to present and discuss their research progress and technology advancements, and bring unique perspectives to the theme of integrating the different facets of neural circuits – Cell Types, Circuits and Disorders.

We welcome all article types including research reports, method papers, reviews and perspectives, and case reports related to studying the aspects of structure, function and development of neural circuits in health and disease. All conference participants are strongly encouraged to submit their work to the Research Topic; however, the Topic is also open to non-conference attendees who would be interested.
