Background

Atmospheric water harvesting (AWH) has emerged as a promising solution to address water scarcity in various regions of the world. With climate change and population growth exacerbating water stress, there is a growing need for sustainable water sources. Recent technological advancements have made AWH systems more efficient and adaptable to different environmental conditions.

This Research Topic aims to address the global challenge of water scarcity by exploring recent advances in atmospheric water harvesting (AWH) technologies. The goal is to gather cutting-edge research that showcases how innovations in materials, energy efficiency, and system design can enhance the viability and sustainability of AWH systems across diverse climates. The topic will highlight successful implementations and provide insights into overcoming barriers to widespread adoption.

This Research Topic welcomes submissions that cover a wide range of themes, including new desiccant materials, energy-efficient condensers, integration of AWH systems with renewable energy sources, fog harvesting, and case studies demonstrating successful implementations in both arid and humid climates. We welcome original research articles, reviews, and case studies that contribute to the development of sustainable AWH practices.
