Background

Spinal health is essential for overall well-being, relying on a complex interplay of biological processes to maintain its strength and functionality. The spine's integrity is maintained through a variety of biological processes. Spinal diseases impact the neck or back. They result in intervertebral disc degeneration, sciatica, chronic pain, and cerebrogenic pain. Transcriptional and post-transcriptional regulation play a role in these diseases, and involve methylation, acetylation, phosphorylation, and ubiquitination. Understanding these mechanisms can offer insights into maintaining spinal health and preventing or treating spinal disorders.

The objective of this topic is to enhance the comprehension of transcriptional and post-transcriptional regulatory mechanisms in the etiology of intervertebral disc degeneration. This topic will attempt to reveal the complex pathological mechanisms involved in intervertebral disc degeneration and provide potential targets for repair and molecular treatment. A key objective is to explore the mechanisms and roles of specific transcription factors, RNA, or proteins in inducing or delaying the progression of intervertebral disc degeneration at the transcriptional or post-transcriptional levels. Possible subjects include, but are not limited to:
