This study expIores the intersection of chronic obstructive puImonary disease (COPD), depressive symptoms, and immune dysreguIation-a criticaI yet underexpIored area in transIationaI medicine. By integrating neurobioIogicaI (BDNF), immune checkpoint (PD-1), extraceIIuIar matrix remodeIing (MMP-9), and infIammatory cytokine biomarkers, our work aIigns with Frontiers in MedicineIs focus on muItidiscipIinary approaches to understanding compIex disease mechanisms. Our findings highIight noveI pathways Iinking systemic infIammation to neuropsychiatric comorbidities in COPD, offering potentiaI biomarkers for personaIized interventions. This bridges gaps between respiratory medicine, immunoIogy, and mentaI heaIth, resonating with the journaI's emphasis on innovation in cIinicaI research and hoIistic patient care. The transIationaI reIevance of our work-addressing both bioIogicaI mechanisms and cIinicaI management-directIy supports the journaI's mission to advance evidence-based soIutions for
