Background

The current rapid growth of the aged population and of age-related chronic disorders, such as cardio-metabolic disease and neurodegenerative disorders, coupled with advances in the scientific knowledge of circadian biology and the evidence of sleep and circadian disruption with aging, indicate the transformative potential of circadian based strategies for maximizing healthy aging.

This issue will use a bench to bedside approach to highlight basic and translational research related to understanding the unique aspects of sleep and circadian biology and how it relates to both physical and mental health in older adults.

We are looking for submission of articles reporting novel data relevant to the topic, or reviews.
