About this Research Topic

Submission deadlines

  1. Manuscript Submission Deadline 30 March 2026

  2. This Research Topic is currently accepting articles.

Background

Climate change is reshaping ecosystems globally, altering the dynamics of invasive insect species in profound ways. This Research Topic aims to explore the multifaceted impacts of climate change on the behavior, distribution, and ecological roles of invasive insects and allied arthropods. We invite submissions that provide insights into the ecological, genetic, and evolutionary adaptations of invasive species in response to changing climate conditions. Key areas of focus will include:

Ecological Impacts: How are changing climatic conditions altering the ecological impacts of invasive species on native biodiversity and ecosystem services?

Distribution and Spread: What are the predictive models and geographical mapping telling us about the future spread of invasive species under various climate change scenarios?

Genetic Adaptations: How are invasive species genetically adapting to new ecological niches created by climate change?

Management Strategies: What management strategies can be developed to mitigate the impacts of invasive species under future climate scenarios, including biological control and integrated pest management (IPM) approaches?

Policy and Societal Responses: Exploration of policy adjustments and public awareness strategies necessary to address the challenges posed by invasive species in a changing climate.

This Research Topic seeks Original Research articles and Review Articles that contribute to a deeper understanding of how climate change is influencing invasive insect species and what can be done to manage their impact effectively.
