Background

We are pleased to announce the inaugural release of our annual "Current Insights in RNA Research" collection in collaboration with the Translational Control meeting with the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory.

As RNA research rapidly advances and interest grows in its pivotal role within biological systems, it's essential to stay updated on the latest discoveries and innovations. This Research Topic aims to capture the dynamic essence of RNA research, showcasing recent breakthroughs and the evolving challenges researchers face. Our goal is to illuminate significant advancements and address the future challenges in RNA research, providing a comprehensive overview of the field and fostering continued interest and understanding.

To offer a broad perspective on the current and future landscape of RNA research, this collection invites contributions across a range of themes and areas. We welcome studies on all types of RNAs, including mRNA, small RNAs, and tRNAs. Additionally, we encourage submissions related to:

• Innovations in RNA methodology and technology
• Impact of RNA research on disease treatment and therapeutic interventions
• Challenges and solutions in RNA data analysis and interpretation
• Cross-disciplinary approaches to expanding RNA research boundaries

We welcome forward-looking contributions from the editorial board, Translational Control meeting attendees, and beyond, that describe, present, or outline developments and major accomplishments in the field of RNA research.
