Realistic Multi-Scale Modeling of Neural Circuit Dynamics: Explore multi-scale models that integrate molecular, cellular, and network-level processes to simulate neural circuit dynamics and bridge the gap between detailed biophysical simulations and high-level neural network interactions

Neural circuit dynamics are immensely complex, governed by interactions at molecular, cellular, and network levels. Recent advancements in computational neuroscience have facilitated the development of detailed biophysical models that enrich our understanding of individual neuron behavior and network interactions. Despite these advances, a significant challenge remains in bridging the detailed molecular-cellular models with high-level descriptions of neural network dynamics. This results in a gap that compromises the completeness of neurological simulations, affecting both theoretical and practical applications in understanding brain functionality.

This Research Topic endeavors to create and refine multi-scale models that comprehensively integrate data from molecular, cellular, and network levels to simulate neural circuit dynamics more realistically. By doing so, it aims to produce simulations that not only align closely with empirical data but also provide deeper insights into neurological disorders and potential therapeutic targets.
