Cancer persists as one of the most daunting health issues globally, presenting significant challenges due to the heterogeneity of tumors and the complexity of their biology. While advancements in targeted therapies have been considerable, translating these discoveries into effective clinical treatments is impeded by gaps in our understanding of the genetic and molecular events driving tumor progression. Moreover, the interactions between cancer cells, their microenvironment, and the immune system add another layer of complexity. These dynamics underscore the pressing need for deeper insights and more comprehensive studies to enhance treatment precision and efficacy.
This Research Topic aims to collate an array of interdisciplinary articles that illuminate novel biomarkers, molecular pathways, and immune processes crucial to both tumor development and responses to therapies. By focusing on innovative research on biomarker identification and validation, including novel methodologies and technologies for their detection, this collection intends to advance the domain of precision medicine in oncology significantly. Additionally, it seeks to explore molecular mechanisms behind tumor behavior and resistance to therapy, targeting these insights for improved therapeutic strategizing.
To gather further insights in the field of tumor biology and immune interactions, we welcome articles addressing, but not limited to, the following themes:
• Innovative approaches for biomarker screening using genomic and proteomic techniques. • Integration of liquid biopsy and multi-omics data to identify critical molecular alterations. • Detailed studies on molecular mechanisms of tumor initiation, progression, and metastasis. • Novel research on resistance mechanisms to targeted therapies and strategies to overcome them. • Advances in immunotherapy, including studies on immune checkpoint inhibitors and cellular therapies.
We invite submissions of various types, including original research, comprehensive reviews, brief reports, and perspectives, to enrich and propel forward the understanding and application of tumor precision medicine.
