Background

Glomerulonephritis encompasses a heterogeneous group of kidney disorders characterized by inflammation of the glomeruli. Recent advancements in the understanding of pathophysiological mechanisms have highlighted the pivotal role of the complement system and other immune-mediated pathways. Despite current therapeutic approaches, many patients continue to experience disease progression, highlighting the necessity for novel, targeted treatments. This Research Topic aims to discuss the most recent and promising therapeutic developments focusing on complement regulators and other emerging biological targets.
Contributions will address underlying biological mechanisms, novel drug candidates, ongoing clinical trials, translational research strategies, and personalized therapeutic approaches for GN.
