Background

Following Frontiers in Bird Science's sponsorship of the Fledgling Event at the European Ornithological Union Conference we invite early career researchers, including postgraduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and scientists in the first years of their independent careers, to contribute their scientific investigations of ornithology to our open access journal.

We welcome studies across all aspects of avian biology including research at the interface of birding and science. Publishing in a gold open access journal ensures your work reaches a global audience—scientists, conservationists, and birders alike.

This visibility can help broaden the impact of your research, foster new collaborations, establish your voice within the ornithological community and ensure your work informs the growing need for reliable information supporting new technological innovations as artificial intelligence continues to develop.

Whether you’re exploring behavior, ecology, evolution, conservation, or the contributions of community science, we look forward to offering rigorous peer review from our international team of reviewers and supporting you in the publication process.
